Allisha Minor-Gaines, LCMFT, LMFT

allisha minor

With professional experience dating back to 2004, Allisha has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of behavioral and mental health concerns. As both a clinician and the CEO of Minor Inspirations, she remains dedicated to fostering a culture where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered—no matter which therapist they work with.

Having overcome personal adversities herself, Allisha believes deeply in the power of therapy to help people become the best version of themselves, both as individuals and within their relationships. This lived experience informs her practice philosophy and the supportive, inclusive environment she has cultivated within the group.

As a mother, wife, and therapist, Allisha particularly values family dynamics and enjoys supporting children and adolescents alongside their caregivers. The practice continues to grow in service to the community, offering both individual and systemic approaches that reflect our belief: even the smallest changes can lead to lasting transformation.

Allisha Minor-Gaines is currently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania, Texas, Maryland and North Carolina. Her academic background reflects a strong foundation in both clinical practice and leadership. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological and Social Sciences from Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management & Leadership from Walden University, and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from LaSalle University. During her undergraduate years, Allisha collaborated with a sociology professor to complete two research studies focused on social inequality, an experience that continues to inform her work with marginalized and underserved communities.

Beyond the therapy room, Allisha is a multi-passionate professional. She is the self-published author of Distractions of the Heart, a poetry collection that explores themes of relationships, trauma, empowerment, and emotional resilience. As a writer, her creative voice offers therapeutic insight and connection to those navigating the complexities of healing.

Allisha is also the founder of Allishaz Distractions LLC, a relationship coaching business dedicated to helping couples eliminate the emotional and behavioral “distractions” keeping them from true connection. Through this brand, she provides online courses, coaching services, and is the host of the upcoming podcast, Hearts Wine from Hearts Distractions, which delivers real, raw, and controversial conversations about modern relationships, generational trauma, and emotional growth.
