ABOUT US

Mission: Minor Inspirations LLC is a private practice striving to inspire minor changes within people for self-improvement, mental stability, and growth within their relationships through therapy, education, seminars, and consulting services.

Services are provided in the Bala Cynwyd area to serve children, adolescents, couples, families, and those of the LGBTQIA culture and provide them with quality service while demonstrating empathy, respect, trust, honesty, and ethical practices. Although the approach to therapy is centered around the Play Therapy, Structural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Contextual Therapy Models, additional therapeutic techniques may be required based on the needs of the individual client(s). Seminars and Consulting services are intended to assist in educating and inspiring people, schools, and organizations to address issues surrounding relationships, mental health, oppression, and self-worth.

Allisha’s Bio

Minor Inspirations LLC was founded by Allisha Minor whose professional experience in working with children, adolescents and adults has provided her with 14 years of experience with various behavior and mental health disorders. Allisha has a BA in Psychological & Social Sciences from Pennsylvania University, a MS in Nonprofit Management & Leadership from Walden University, and an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy from LaSalle University. During her undergraduate studies, Allisha worked alongside one of her sociology professions to complete 2 research studies surrounding social inequality. As a therapist, Allisha holds confidentiality to its highest regard and promotes safety within the therapy space to ensure all clients are treated with respect and shown empathy based on the disclosure of their experiences. Allisha is a mother and aunt who enjoys working with children and adolescents of all ages alongside their parents as she understands the struggles of parenting and co-parenting through her own experiences. Allisha utilizes Structural Family Therapy, Play Therapy, TF-CBT, Contextual Therapy and EFT based on the client(s) presenting issues. Allisha has worked with clients who adopted a multiplicity of issues such as: physical, sexual & emotional trauma; stress due to separation and divorce; grief & loss; drug & alcohol abuse; suicidal ideations & behaviors; elopement, drop out & truancy prevention; low self-esteem; sex offenses; conduct disorders; co-occurring disorders; chronic illnesses with mental health diagnosis; other MH diagnosis per DSM V and catastrophic issues. In addition to her education & experiences, Allisha possesses the strong qualities of leadership, analytical, organization, crisis management, assertiveness, empathy, ethical standards, and communication skills. Allisha has obtained extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations of health care, business, nonprofit management where Medicaid and Medicare funding and insurances play a part in assisting in getting clients connected to resources they require. Outside of conducting therapy sessions, Allisha is a self-published author as she enjoys writing poetry revolving around relationships, trauma, and self-worth.

Mushyirah

Mushiyrah’s Bio

“Everyone has strengths and locating them and learning to utilize them appropriately, can help build healthier individuals and healthier relationships”. Mushiyrah has a BS in Behavioral Health Sciences from Philadelphia University and a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Mushiyrah has worked with a mixture of populations to include adults, couples, children and families. She has training and experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-injurious behaviors, anger, communication, issues surrounding divorce, substance abuse, and trauma. Mushiyrah has a unique background because of her experience working with First Responders (police, fire, corrections, military, and emergency services professionals) struggling with addiction and managing mental health issues. However, it is through her work with children and families, that she developed a love for helping children to utilize their strengths and help families build healthier and more cohesive relationships. Mushiyrah utilizes Narrative Therapy and Bowen’s Family Therapy because of its natural ability to allow individuals to utilize their strengths and be the experts in their own lives. Also, it draws upon the exploration of multigenerational patterns that influence and inform individuals behaviors. Nonetheless, Mushiyrah believes that one size does not fit all and thus she is able to use multiple tools from her tool box to meet the client where he or she is. When she is not working, she enjoys writing, reading, and music.
